Volkswagen Reports June Sales Gain

Volkswagen of America recently announced June sales of 27,377 vehicles in the United States, marking a 15 percent increase compared to June 2016 results. To date, there have been 161,238 Volkswagen vehicles sold in the United States -- a year-over-year increase of 8.2 percent.

Consumer demand for the Golf family of vehicles continued to run high, earning an increase of 27.7 percent on 5,880 vehicles sold in June. Total Golf sales for the year have increased 45.3 percent with 38,247 vehicles sold, driven by the Golf SportWagen sales performance of a 139.6 percent June increase and 200.7 percent for 2017.

In the Beetle family, the Coupe gained 39.2 percent and the Convertible improved 49.2 percent. All together, the Beetle has realized a year-to-date sales improvement of 30.2 percent on 8,821 vehicles sold.

Touareg sales increased 51.4 percent in June, while the Volkswagen Jetta gained 16.0 percent on sales of 9,999 vehicles.

June also marked the first full month of sales for the Volkswagen Atlas SUV, which is built in Chattanooga, TN, as 2,413 vehicles were delivered to American customers during the month.
