Volkswagen Arteon Debuts in Geneva With Hatch and Style

Back at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen brought along the Sport Coupe Concept GTE, which showcased not just a new design direction for the brand, but laid the groundwork for the successor to the CC. This year, Volkswagen unveiled the Arteon—a midsize sedan with a hatch bookending its stylishly-tapered roof.

Believe it or not, the production Arteon looks even better than the prototype we saw two years ago. For one, the slatted grille and intakes on the lower part of the fascia have more detail, and we love the way the LED daytime running lights blend with the rest of the nose. The rest of the chassis is marked by a strong character line from the high front wheel arch to the top of the tail lamps.

While the interior of the Arteon may seem a bit minimalist, it still looks to be a premium and spacious place to be. The center stack is occupied by a 9.2-inch touch screen, and the instrument cluster can be had with VW Digital Cockpit. American-spec engines are yet to be announced, but our gut tells us we’ll get two versions of the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four—one with 148 hp, and the top-tier with 276 hp. 4Motion AWD will also be available, which the CC dropped recently.

There are plenty of new Volkswagen models to go around at our dealership here in Beaumont, TX. All you need to do is figure out which one speaks to you! Browse our inventory online, and then stop by to test drive it.
